Tango solver

Only here Reads your board, signs included, from a screenshot right in your browser, then names the rule behind each hint, from pairs and gaps to "every way to finish this row agrees".

For LinkedIn Tango and other sun-and-moon grids: each row and column has half suns and half moons, never three in a row, = means the same and × means different.

Tap a square for a sun, again for a moon, again to clear. Tap the dots between squares for = and ×. Or load a screenshot of the board: it is read in your browser and never uploaded.

How the hints work

  1. Signs: a square joined by = or × to a filled square follows straight away.
  2. Pairs: two the same side by side push the other symbol into both ends.
  3. Gaps: the same symbol either side of an empty square makes it the other one.
  4. Full lines: once a line has its half of one symbol, the rest are the other.
  5. Every way agrees: when every legal way to finish a line puts the same symbol in a square, it's certain.
  6. Dead end: if one symbol leads, by those rules, to a line that can't be finished, the square must be the other.

"Check board" tells you whether the board has exactly one solution, whether these hints alone finish it, and which of your squares are wrong.

Reading screenshots

The image never leaves your device. The solver finds the board against the page background, reads each square's sun (orange) or moon (blue) by colour, and reads the = and × signs on the lines between squares from their dark strokes, ignoring the grid lines themselves. Check what it read against your screenshot; tap any square or sign to fix it.
